American Clay has just completed its first trade show and seminar. This event was in conjunction with our customer appreciation night. Both events were held at Hudson Gardens, on July 25th & 26th. The trade show and seminar offered new products not seen in this market. The AFA Greenhouse Side Roll-Up System is very impressive, it actually works, especially for longer side wall distances. The AFA motors are unique in that they operate in various stages of opening.
The Netafim Ferti-Jet Irrigation System is a computerized injection system designed to inject nutrients along with accurate control of EC & PH in one system. The Netafim Elgal Greenhouse Climate Control System is one of the only computer Windows program available. This system can be tied into the Ferti-Jet System to allow a grower to control all climate systems and all irrigation zones with one unit. The presentation by Frank Yantarno & Kim Crowther of Center Greenhouse was excellent. Frank & Kim talked about heat retention and climate management of the greenhouse structure by comparing older structures to the new. The new greenhouses included 8mm poly carbonate, retractable shade / heat cloth, floor heat and state of the art control systems. Other seminars on equipment leasing, nitrogen run-off in nurseries & greenhouses, Wadsworth Controls, maintenance of Modine Heaters, Gleason Equipment and Dr. Ted Diedrich of Green-Tek on energy savings were all excellent seminars and very informative.
