It appears drought conditions are easing up in some areas of Colorado. Snow pack reports are high for many river drainages, rains and cooler temperatures throughout April and May has allowed ground water levels to replenish and some storage reservoirs are reporting near capacity levels. Does this mean the drought is over, NOT QUITE. Many of us experienced how vulnerable we are to nature and politics. We as an industry, must continue to show our customers and providers, that we are utilizing the latest technology  and good management practices, for water use. Water infrastructure measures, to increase water storage capacity, will take 5 to 10 years to implement. We have the opportunity to demonstrate, how successful landscaping and growing, can be accomplished in an arid climate.
 
Reduce watering frequency by using shade cloth, drip irrigate when possible, use of water crystals in containers, growing plants in larger cell packs, update irrigation controls and systems. American Clay can help you implement all of these ideas, please call us for more information.
