The American Clay Open House, held here on August 14th, was a great success.  Vendors from 10 different companies were present.  Hamburgers and hot dogs were cooked by Gary Ulibarri and Dave Montague. Hot items included the new Enthusiast home greenhouse.  It is a 6' x 8' structure that sells for $661.00 and retails for $869.00.  The Enthusiast is made from extruded aluminum and flat clear polycarbonate.  The structure is very sound, attractive and will ship via UPS. Call for more information.  Pesticide experts from The Scotts Company and American Clay were on hand to answer any bug or fungus questions.  Green-Tek and AT Plastics provided all you ever wanted to know about polycarbonate and greenhouse polyfilm.  ITML exhibited the new Casabella decorative pot line and much more.  After a long hard drought it was good to see happy faces. The networking at the open house was great and optimism is strong for a better 2004.  We hope to be a part of your growth.
 
CAMAS Technologies has announced the release of their new fungicide QWEL.  QWEL is an ornamental plant fungicide, for use in greenhouses, for the control of powdery mildew and leafspots.  QWEL is a liquid fungicide made from botanical extracts with a 12 hour REI.  It is not OGA approved.  QWEL is labeled for most annual and perennial plants and is recommended to apply every 8-10 days.  QWEL is available in gallon containers.  For more information please call American Clay.
 
Early Order programs for spring bedding plant containers are now in effect.  ITML, T.O.Plastics, Summit Plastics, East Jordan Plastics and Nursery Supplies all have programs.  Speculation as to plastic prices is unclear.  Some say prices are increasing, some say prices are decreasing, and others expect no change.  We do know that pricing on our EO programs are guaranteed until October 1, 2003.
