Please mark August 12th, 2004 Thursday, on your calendar, for the American Clay Open House. We are not sending out invitations.  We are relying on Potshots and word of mouth.  Since we are providing lunch, we are asking you R.S.V.P. to American Clay by August 9th, 2004.  12 vendors will be attending, including Valent Chemical, Pak Unlimited, Nexus Greenhouse, Wadsworth Controls, Aquamat, Modine Heaters, AT Plastics, T.O. Plastics, ITML Plastics, Nursery Supplies, Western Pulp Products and Becker Underwood products.  Valent will be giving a seminar on several of their products including Broadstar and Distance.  This event will be an excellent opportunity to book 2005 container orders or to upgrade your heaters.  With higher natural gas prices old heaters can cost you a lot of money.  Modine representatives will be here to answer your questions about heater maintenance and show you the advantages of the new units and their heat savings.  Nursery Supplies will be here to answer questions about their pot-in-pot growing system.  T.O. Plastics has increased its product line and will be displaying new items at this show. As mentioned in previous newsletters, Aquamat will be demonstrating the new water mat designed for retail garden centers and growers.  Designed for greater water efficiency, this mat may be an answer to reducing water usage.  American Clay will be giving away some nice door prizes, so be sure to attend.  We look forward to seeing you.
 
Western Pulp Products is currently offering its annual Early Order Program.  American Clay and Western Pulp have been offering this program for nearly 25 years.  The program continues to be a success each year.  The program allows you to buy early, get greater product discount and extended billing terms.  Western Pulp has become a very important container to the greenhouse industry.  Each year more containers are used for flowers.  Pulp pots make excellent liners for larger containers such as whiskey barrels, plastic, fiberglass and larger clay pots.  Pulp pots are also plant-able containers, a feature only fiber pots carry.
