Spraying plants in the month of May is challenging due to reentry time.  Zero-tol is an excellent choice because of its 0 hour reentry label.  Zero-tol is one of the best disinfectants available.  It kills bacteria, virus and fungal spores.  Zero-tol will control many of the blights and mildews that are common in the garden center at this time of the year.  Zero-tol is available in 2.5 gallon containers and is an excellent tool to keep your facility disease free. Valent’s new insecticide Safari has been getting great reviews.  Use Safari as a drench to control aphids, whitefly, thrip (suppression), fungus gnat, mealy bug and scale.  One drench application lasts 10 to 12 weeks.  Safari applied as a foliar spray will last about 4 weeks. Safari is the one product you can apply one time as a drench to control all the major insects affecting your plants.
 
May is also a big shade cloth month.  American Clay has both knitted and woven shade material in stock.  We have a few rolls left of green knit cloth 10' x 95' and 10' x 100' 60% shade factor on a close out.  Knitted cloth comes in different colors; black, green, terracotta, beige and white.  The woven comes in black only.  Most bedding plants require 60% to 70% shade for protection against the sun. You can purchase shade material in bulk rolls, or in custom sizes with brass grommets.  Custom cloth takes about 3 weeks to construct and bulk rolls are available at American Clay.
